A little acorn which we aim, over the coming months, to nurture into a substantial oak.
Rossendale TV is a community project launched by CAR Video Unit with funding provided by the Adult and Community Learning Fund.  Eventually it will grow into a ‘one-stop shop’ for anyone seeking information about the attractions, amenities and cultural heritage of Rossendale, one of the most fascinating areas the county of Lancashire has to offer.

The Rossendale TV project began in September of 2011. Since that time we have trained over thirty people in various aspects of video production, nine of whom will soon complete a Level 2 NCFE Award in Moving Image Production.  In the course of this training twenty four short films covering various aspects of Rossendale have been produced, the first efforts of the trainees involved.  These will all appear on Rossendale TV as time goes by.

The first of these films is a tour of Stacksteads, one of the lesser known villages of Rossendale, and details the work of the Stacksteads Countryside Park Group.  This film has been sponsored by Profits, a Rawtenstall based community enterprise specialising in connecting local people with local investment to give them the opportunity to improve their communities.

The main purpose of Rossendale TV is to support the CAR Video Unit’s work in offering free video production training to the people of Rossendale and beyond.  To this end we are looking for sponsors for the films to be hosted on the site and for local advertisers to take space on our pages – see the “Support Your Local TV Station” section for further details.

The more visitors we attract to the site, the more successful we’ll be in attracting sponsors so, if you like what we are doing, be sure to ‘like’ us on facebook and tell your friends about us.
